Overview of the role


Reporting to GM-HR IKEA, managing the day-to-day HR operations of the assigned store. Acting as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to the Store Manager and Store management team, providing value-added services on people-related issues that are critical to achieving business priorities and objectives.

What you will do


  1. Translate the IKEA People Strategy to a matching store strategy in alignment with the overall Al Futtaim Retail People strategy.
  2. Design & recommend an optimum organization structure for the store in coordination with Store Manager, Business Navigator and Store Management team to ensure efficient and effective structure & performance.
  3. Accountable for the Manpower Cost & Budget planning for the store, providing the most efficient utilization of the approved budget.
  4. Ensure annual manpower budgeting exercise is conducted accurately and efficiently.
  5. Establish a Values driven store culture, maintaining recruitment, development & promotion by Values concept.
  6. Partner with store leadership to identify talent needs, develop recruitment strategies.
  7. Support the hiring process to ensure the store is staffed with qualified and motivated coworkers.
  8. Manage the Internal & External recruitment process, making sure selection is based on values & culture fit.
  9. Act as a point of contact for CWs' concerns and grievances, ensuring fair and consistent application of HR policies.
  10. Mediation of conflicts and facilitate resolutions to maintain a harmonious work environment.
  11. Act as a strategic partner with the business in advising, coaching and mentoring management on people-related issues.
  12. Ensure compliance of HR policy is maintained to review and strengthen business internal controls and procedures.
  13. Manage Employee Relations cases across the assigned store's functions, according to the Local laws & AFG Policy & Code of conduct.
  14. Ensure compliance with local labour laws and Group policies throughout the employee lifecycle.
  15. Communicate and implement changes to HR policies and procedures.
  16. Guide store management team in the performance appraisal process, providing tools and coaching to effectively evaluate and enhance employee performance.
  17. Support the development of performance improvement plans as needed.
  18. Mentor managers to enhance their leadership skills, address concerns, and develop their teams.
  19. Develop a fair and accessible Succession Plan for all positions on the store, maintaining a strong bench strength on all store functions.
  20. Collaborate with store leadership to design and implement organizational changes that improve operational efficiency and CWs satisfaction.
  21. Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth transitions.
  22. Implement the IKEA & Al-Futtaim strategy to equality, diversity, and inclusion on the store.
  23. Manage the Co-worker Engagement survey for the store, ensuring all impact plans have been submitted and implemented.
