The National Pork Board is seeking a Jr. Accountant to join the Finance team. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Finance, this position would be responsible for maintaining accounts receivable and financial records. This position is a great entry level opportunity to learn about the checkoff process and make an immediate and valuable contribution to the organization.


Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Maintains financial records and ensures that revenue transactions are properly collected and recorded.
  • Assist in revenue recognition, invoicing, and expense reporting.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, financial reconciliation, and audit.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent
  • 0-2 years of related experience.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office. Salesforce financial system experience a plus.
  • No travel is expected.
  • Typical office environment. The ability to sit for extended periods of time is necessary. The ability to look at a computer screen for long periods of time is essential.

This position is located at our home office in Clive, IA. Employees may work a hybrid schedule once hired.


The starting pay range for this role is $24.00/hour to $29.00/hour which annualized to $50,000-$60,000 but based on experience and skills. The job posting will remain open until the position is filled.


The National Pork Board has responsibility for Checkoff-funded research, promotion and consumer information projects and for communicating with pork producers and the public. The Pork Checkoff funds national and state programs in advertising, consumer information, retail and foodservice marketing, export market promotion, production improvement, technology, swine health, pork safety and environmental management.
