Amentum is now hiring a Journeyman Cloud Engineer in support of the Field, Lab and Air Integration / Experimentation / Modeling and Risk Reduction (FLAIR) office at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD and other locations. This project will provide the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM), Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Research (C5ISR) Center services to include programmatic/business management services, engineering support services, field engineering, laboratory, logistics, and acquisition / administrative support services to augment FLAIR core Government personnel and turn-key solutions to support the missions of FLAIR and its associated Managers and customers. This support will be conducted in close coordination with Government project leads within FLAIR.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: - Research, design, develop, run test, and evaluate systems that support cloud implementation and integrate with cloud service providers, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
- Plan and conduct technical tasks associated with the implementation and maintenance of internal cloud enterprise-shared virtualization infrastructure.
- Develop and execute cloud solution roadmaps as they relate to business and executes company strategy to drive the achievement of business objective.
- Formulate and design systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
- Analyze cloud requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
- Consult with other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements of overall cloud technology system.
- Deploy software to cloud computing infrastructure, and work with system configuration and deployment automation technologies, working with ETL tools and techniques.
- Perform the implementation, operational support, maintenance, and optimization of network hardware, software, and communication links of the cloud infrastructure.
- Leverage software development and open-source solutions to automate tasks required to enable and manage an organization's products and/or services.
- Resolve complex problems, create and improve procedures, and facilitate communication.
- Research and write technical documentation that is beneficial to the organization.
- Provide oversight of hosted systems, databases, and network troubleshooting, and provide various technical solutions to the business.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: - Must have a Bachelor of Science degree.
- Minimum of 7 years of working experience. Will accept 5 years of additional experience in lieu of degree.
- Must have an Active SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a SECRET Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience supporting C5ISR DEVCOM programs.
