Jira Administrator

The Jira Administrator will be responsible for the configuration, customization, and administration of Jira. As the primary point of contact for all Jira-related matters, the successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design workflows, troubleshoot issues, and enhance the platform to meet the evolving needs of the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of Jira's capabilities and best practices to deliver an exceptional user experience and streamline project management processes.
Responsibilities:
1. Jira Configuration and Customization:
o Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and design Jira workflows, issue types, custom fields, and screens to align with business processes.
o Configure permissions, user roles, and security schemes to ensure appropriate access controls and data privacy.
2. Issue Tracking and Project Management:
o Assist teams in setting up projects and boards in Jira to facilitate effective project planning, tracking, and reporting.
o Create and manage Jira filters, dashboards, and reports to provide insights into project progress and team performance.
3. Plugins and Integrations:
o Evaluate, install, and configure Jira plugins and integrations to extend the platform's capabilities and integrate with other tools in the technology stack.
o Stay informed about the latest Jira updates and plugins to recommend relevant improvements to the platform.
4. User Training and Support:
o Provide training and support to end-users on Jira best practices, workflows, and functionalities.
o Address and resolve user inquiries and issues related to Jira usage in a timely and professional manner.
5. Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
o Monitor the performance of the Jira instance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
o Conduct regular health checks and maintenance tasks to keep the platform running smoothly.
6. Security and Compliance:
o Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard Jira data and ensure compliance with data protection regulations and internal policies.
o Conduct periodic security audits and vulnerability assessments.
7. Continuous Improvement:
o Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within Jira and lead initiatives to enhance the platform's functionality and user experience.
o Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to drive innovation and efficiency.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2 years experience as a Jira Administrator, handling configuration and administration of Jira instances.
• Solid understanding of Jira workflows, issue types, and customization options.
• Familiarity with Jira plugins and integrations, such as Agile boards and automation tools.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to resolve Jira-related issues efficiently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Jira Administrator or Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP) certification is a plus.
