Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented JIRA Administrator / Engineer to manage, configure, and support Atlassian JIRA environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in JIRA customization, automation, plugin integration, and user support. You will be responsible for maintaining the performance and usability of JIRA, ensuring that workflows and configurations align with business needs, and working closely with various teams including project managers, developers, and IT.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and manage JIRA Software, JIRA Service Management, and Confluence environments.
- Design, configure, and maintain JIRA projects, workflows, permission schemes, screens, custom fields, and notifications.
- Develop and implement JIRA automation rules to improve process efficiency.
- Integrate JIRA with other tools (e.g., Confluence, Slack, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Git, ServiceNow).
- Provide user training and technical support to JIRA users across the organization.
- Perform regular system health checks, upgrades, and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into JIRA configurations.
- Manage plugins and ensure compatibility with JIRA upgrades.
- Maintain system security, user roles, and access controls in accordance with company policies.
- Generate custom dashboards and reports for different teams and leadership.
- Document best practices, procedures, and configuration guidelines.
- Work with Atlassian support for issue resolution and feature enhancements.
Primary Skills (Technical & Functional):
- Strong experience with Atlassian JIRA Administration (Server/Data Center/Cloud).
- Deep understanding of JIRA Workflows, Schemes, and Permissions.
- Proficiency in JIRA Query Language (JQL).
- Experience with JIRA Automation Rules and ScriptRunner.
- Familiarity with Confluence configuration and management.
- Knowledge of REST APIs and ability to integrate JIRA with external systems.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Groovy, Python, or Bash) is a plus.
- Experience with plugin management and marketplace apps.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum and ITSM concepts.
- Basic knowledge of DevOps pipelines and integrations (Bitbucket, Jenkins, GitLab).
- Hands-on with user training, access management, and support.
- Understanding of cloud vs. on-premise deployment models and migrations.
- Familiarity with Atlassian Access, SSO, and user provisioning.
- Ability to create and manage custom reports and dashboards.
