Basic Function
Perform communications and outreach duties on behalf of the County Farm Bureaus. Duties involve County Farm Bureau coordination of events including; Ag in the Classroom and public outreach coordination, communication with general membership, managing social media accounts, publishing articles for the Farm Bureau newsletter publication, telephone reception and facilities maintenance management. Classroom experience is not required but is a plus.

- Creative writing skills as an Editor of the Jefferson & Wapello County Spokesman page
- Comfortable operating within a Microsoft Environment to support the works of the Jefferson & Wapello County Farm Bureau Board of Directors
- Proficient in navigating social media platforms
- Willing to collaborate with both staff and volunteers across diverse activities
- Confident speakers that are comfortable addressing groups of various ages
- Well-versed and interested in the agricultural industry
Essential Functions
- Maintain regular contact with supervisor regarding Farm Bureau activities
- Research, prepare, and submit articles to the newsletter
- Collect and enter member advertisements in the Spokesman
- Maintain a social media presence on important platforms
- Coordinate Ag in the Classroom opportunities within county school districts
- Membership data base updates and data mining
- Collect and process membership information or payments from renewing clients
- Coordinate activities and records for the county board of directors including; preparation of documents and materials for the County Board of Directors meetings. Examples include timely meeting notices, meeting minutes, preparing details for discussion topics, preparing agenda items, preparing refreshments, and follow up on details post meeting
- Work and communicate with Committee Chairs, Executive Officers, and Board of Directors as needed on projects or county business
- Serve as a positive liaison between supervisor, staff, volunteers, and affiliated companies and organizations
Additional Details:
- This position is a full time position but has an option for part time
- Limited travel primarily in Jefferson & Wapello Counties
- Based in Fairfield, Iowa with programs conducted throughout Jefferson & Wapello Counties
- Flexible work schedule available after training completed
