Akkodis is seeking a Java Developer for a job with a client in Newark, DE. You must be local to Newark and able to work on a W2 contract.

Rate Range: $63-$67 an hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

We are seeking a skilled Java Developer to join our growing development team. The ideal candidate will have experience building enterprise-grade applications using Java/J2EE and Oracle on the backend, with deployment on WebSphere. As part of our modernization initiative, we're migrating toward Kafka-based microservices, using Spring Boot and exploring containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java/J2EE applications in a complex enterprise environment.

Work with Oracle databases for backend processing, including writing and optimizing SQL queries and stored procedures.

Support and maintain applications deployed on IBM WebSphere Application Server.

Design and implement RESTful APIs using Spring Boot and other Spring frameworks.

Participate in the migration of monolithic applications to Kafka-based microservices architecture.

Collaborate with DevOps teams to explore and implement containerization solutions such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Contribute to system design and architecture decisions with a focus on scalability, performance, and security.

Engage in code reviews, pair programming, and agile development practices to ensure high-quality code.

Create and maintain technical documentation for new and existing systems.

Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across multiple environments.

Work closely with cross-functional teams including QA, business analysts, and product managers to ensure alignment on requirements and deliverables.

Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to contribute innovative solutions.
