Java / Kotlin Developer



Salary: Competitive, based on experience (Average: £40,000 - £50,000)

Location: Whitefield, Manchester

Employment Type: Full-time permanent, Monday to Friday



The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilledJava / Kotlin Developerto join our growing tech team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining scalable, high-performance applications usingJavaandKotlin. This is a fantastic opportunity for developers with experience in Java and Kotlin to work on innovative projects, expand their skill set, and take on a key role within the development team.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Develop and maintain applications usingJavaandKotlin.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust software solutions.

  • Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code, following best practices.

  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise code for better performance and reliability.

  • Stay current with the latest technologies, frameworks, and trends in the Java/Kotlin ecosystem.

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to team best practices.



Key Skills & Experience:




  • Proven experience withJavaandKotlindevelopment.

  • Familiarity with web development frameworks and tools such asSpringandHibernate.

  • Strong understanding of software development principles and design patterns.

  • Experience withRESTful APIsandmicroservicesarchitecture.

  • Knowledge of databases, bothrelational (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL)andNoSQL(e.g., MongoDB).

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work well in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.

  • Familiarity with version control systems such asGitand CI/CD processes.



Desirable:




  • Experience withcloud technologies(e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).

  • Familiarity withAndroid developmentusing Kotlin.

  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools likeDockerandKubernetes.



Target Salary:




  • £40,000 - £50,000per annum (depending on experience)
