Java Developer for a
Contract job with a client in
Seattle, WA (Hybrid). The ideal candidate will lead software initiatives, develop mission-critical applications, and ensure stable, high-quality deliverables.
Rate Range: $66/hour to $70/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Java Developer job responsibilities include: - Develop and maintain scalable, high-performance applications using Java/J2EE, ensuring they meet business requirements and align with architectural guidelines.
- Design and implement RESTful and SOAP Web Services to support business functionality and integration needs.
- Work closely with business units, architects, and external teams to deliver software solutions on time and within budget, while also providing feedback and technical guidance to project managers.
- Ensure code quality through unit testing, performance testing, and code optimization; troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
- Utilize Oracle SQL/PLSQL, including the design of tables and stored procedures, to manage and interact with databases efficiently.
- Work in Agile environments, attending regular sprints and ensuring deliverables are met in each phase of development.
- Coordinate with distributed development teams across regions to handle cross-functional issues and deliver project milestones.
- Document software designs, write technical specifications, and create prototypes to prove design concepts.
- Stay updated with new technologies, tools, and frameworks to drive improvements in software development practices and project efficiency.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior developers while also supporting strategic direction for individual initiatives.
Desired Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 6+ years of hands-on experience in Java development, with a focus on building large-scale enterprise and distributed applications.
- Strong proficiency in Java/J2EE, RESTful services, Spring Framework (Spring Boot), and SOAP Webservices.
- Experience working with Oracle SQL/PLSQL, Apache Kafka, and NoSQL databases (such as Cassandra), along with knowledge of Agile development processes and SDLC.

Pay Details: $66.00 to $70.00 per hour
