MAJOR INVESTMENT BANK IS LOOKING FOR JAVA DEVELOPER FOR A LONG TERM CONTRACT POSITION IN NYC OR PENNINGTON, NJ

Industry : Banking

Position : Java Developer

Location : NYC or Pennington, NJ

Duration : 18 Months contract to hire

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based backend applications.
  • Develop and implement Microservices architecture to support the business needs.
  • Utilize Spring Framework for application development and enhancement.
  • Perform multithreaded and multiprocess programming to handle complex systems.
  • Engage in socket programming to build networked applications.
  • Optimize the application's performance by fine-tuning JVM settings.
  • Integrate and manage message queues using MQ Messaging or Tibco for reliable data exchange.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand business requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, testing, and production environments.
  • Follow best practices in coding standards, security, and testing.
  • Work in a Linux environment to ensure system compatibility and smooth application deployment.
Required Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in Java backend development (Java 8 or later).
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of Microservices architecture.
  • Experience with multithreading, multiprocessing, and socket programming.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems for application development and deployment.
  • Good understanding of JVM internals, performance tuning, and garbage collection.
  • Experience with MQ Messaging or Tibco for message-driven architectures.
