Sr. Java Developer Austin TX FTE As a Senior hands-on Developer of Software Development Engineering, you will enable WME to achieve consistent, predictable, high-quality delivery by implementing best practices, tools, metrics, automation frameworks, and provide oversight in the areas of software development and testing. You'll serve as a strong and versatile hands-on technical leader. You will deliver high-quality solutions and develop frameworks for data processing and automation and develop non-functional frameworks that meet business objectives in a flexible, collaborative, and rapidly changing environment.
What you have Follow the technical lead, implement stories, and collaborate with partners to deliver a common framework or library for data quality, data observability, and data transformation that can be used across different applications in Wealth Management Engineering by designing, developing, testing, and supporting. Implement and recommend software development best practices as a go-to development partner for the scrum team members. Build the services and features required for each assigned Java development story, including the skills and tools below.
Required qualifications: - university degree or equivalent professional software development experience.
- 8+ years of experience in hands-on software development roles with focus on software development and data products.
- Hands-on experience coding in core Java with tools such as Bamboo, Github, maven/gradle and Jira.
- Experience in building nonfunctional frameworks or libraries
- Experience in implementing software development engineering best practices and DevOps, CI/CD, Scrum, and Kanban.
- Hands-on experience coding in and accurately documenting core Java, REST based APIs, messaging and streaming technologies, and related tools such as Bamboo, Bitbucket, and Jira.
- Experience writing unit, integration, acceptance, and automation tests including testing for data interfaces & data pipelines
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming using Java and data structures
Preferred qualifications:
- Proactively detect, troubleshoot, and remediate issues affecting production applications.
- Communicate clearly, concisely, and timely with affected parties during the investigation and resolution of any individual or system-wide outage.
- Experience in building REST-based APIs, using messaging and streaming technologies, is a plus.
- Work with development teams at the appropriate stages to ensure the support strategy guidelines are followed and new systems or projects meet the production standards.
- Constantly update the knowledge repository and ensure information regarding any support-related activities or issues is available and easily accessible.
- Wealth Management and/or Financial Services industry experience is a plus.
- Ability to quickly learn & become proficient with new technologies.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including team interaction and communication skills.
