Essential Functions Under administrative direction of the Chief Fiscal office serves as Supervisor of the Accounting Services Section at the Veteran Home. Serves as full-line supervisor. Develops facility's overall allocation budget. Prepares facility financial statements and reports. Gathers, formulates, and presents facility fiscal data which relates to facility accomplishments, goals, and future planning for which support is solicited. Represents the facility accounting Services section. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably with the scope of duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college. Requires three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in accounting external auditing, budgetary planning and control or public accounting. Preferred Qualifications Extensive knowledge of the fundamental principles of modern business administration. Extensive knowledge of the functions of state government and the employing agency. Three (3) years of experience contract establishment, contract monitoring and working within the Illinois Procurement Code. Three (3) years of professional experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software such as SAP, database management systems such as HANA, SAMS, or other compatible software. Two (2) years of professional experience handling conflict resolution within staff, coworkers, vendors, and clients. Two (2) years professional experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. One (1) year of experience with BidBuy or other procurement. Conditions of Employment Requires the ability to pass a background check. Requires ability meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance. Requires ability pass a drug screen and pre-employment physical. Requires ability utilize office equipment, including personal computers. Requires ability acquire and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate. Requires ability attend seminars, conferences, and trainings to stay current on methods, tools, ideologies, or other industry related topics relevant to the job duties. Requires ability to travel in the performance of job duties, with overnight stays as appropriate. On-call and overtime are a condition of employment, and you may be required to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime, and may be required to work alternating weekends.
