- Experience in an educational environment is preferred;
- Hands-on experience with fiber optic and MDF/IDF technologies is preferred; and

Licensure/Certifications: - BICSI certification (or ability to obtain one within 1 year of hire);
- CompTIA Network+ or equivalent certification is preferred; and
- A valid New Mexico Driver's License is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting, etc.);
- Experience with enterprise wireless systems;
- Proficiency with cabling and network systems, including troubleshooting and repairing;
- Knowledge of VOIP/SIP and analog telecommunication systems;
- Experience with analog/network-based intercom and clock/bell systems;
- Ability to troubleshoot fiber patch panels, terminate fiber, and manage fiber connections;
- Familiarity with UPS systems and basic electrical principles;
- Proficiency with tools for testing and troubleshooting network and telecom equipment;
- Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and electronic) to collaborate with teams and support staff;
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for diagnosing and resolving issues;
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team; and
- Aptitude for learning and processing new technology quickly.
Essential Job Responsibilities - Install, configure, and troubleshoot network and telecommunications systems, including switches, wireless access points, copper cabling, fiber connections, UPS units, intercom systems, bell systems, clock systems and VOIP/SIP systems;
- Updating software and firmware for all telecommunications systems to keep them secure and functioning;
- Manage backups of all telecommunications systems;
- Coordinating support from district telecommunications vendors;
- Coordinate with IT Operations Administrator to evaluate District systems and identify work that will require outsourcing to vendors. Reviewing and approving proposed solutions to ensure they meet the district's telecommunication needs;
- Regularly review and maintain BICSI standards for district cabling specifications;
- Maintain and repair fiber and copper cabling across District facilities;
- Maintain and repair intercom, clock, and bell systems across District facilities;
- Maintain and repair UPS units across District facilities and assist with basic electrical troubleshooting when needed;
- Maintains 3CX PBX and SIP trunks;
- Involved in architecting solutions for VOIP/SIP systems;
- Perform patch panel management, including fiber and Ethernet patching;
- Assist in identifying and resolving recurring issues, and develop knowledge base articles or training for staff as appropriate;
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including diagrams, system configurations, and troubleshooting logs;
- Work collaboratively with IT staff to support District-wide technology initiatives;
- Attend and/or conduct training sessions and participate in committees as required;
- Ensure professional dress and conduct as established by the Executive Director of Information Technology;
- Comply with state-approved New Mexico Administrative Code of Ethical Responsibility of the Education Profession and the RRPS Employee Standards of Conduct and uphold and enforce rules, administrative directives and regulations, school board policies, and local, state and federal regulations; and
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the District.
