Description :
- The IT Technical Analyst III will be an integral part of the Gas SCADA team, working in a cross-functional effort to support business partner needs related to the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of a new enterprise-level software solution.
- This role is crucial in ensuring that the software meets the required standards and functions correctly before it is fully deployed to a production environment.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Collaborate with business partners to understand their requirements and translate them into comprehensive test plans.
- Execute both structured and unstructured test scripts and test cases to validate the functionality, performance, and reliability of the new enterprise software solution.
- Defect Escalation and Reporting: Identify, document, and escalate defects and issues encountered during testing.
- Work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution of these defects.
- Maintain detailed records of all issues and their resolutions.
- Technical Writing: Create and maintain detailed documentation related to testing processes, test cases, and test results.
- Ensure that all documentation is clear, concise, and accessible to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Issue Tracking: Utilize issue tracking systems to log and monitor defects and issues.
- Ensure that all issues are tracked from identification through resolution, providing regular updates to stakeholders on the status of each issue.
- Status Reporting: Prepare and present regular status reports on testing progress, defect resolution, and overall project health.
- Communicate effectively with business partners, project managers, and other stakeholders to keep them informed of testing outcomes and any potential risks.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other teams, including development, quality assurance, and business analysts, to ensure a cohesive approach to testing and implementation. Foster strong relationships with business partners to understand their needs and ensure that the software solution meets their expectations.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving testing processes and methodologies.
- Stay up to date with industry best practices and incorporate them into the testing strategy to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years experience
- Detail-Oriented: Demonstrate a meticulous approach to testing, ensuring that all aspects of the software are thoroughly evaluated.
- Organized: Maintain a structured approach to testing, documentation, and issue tracking to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Technical Proficiency: Possess strong technical skills, including experience with SCADA systems and software development.
- Familiarity with testing tools and methodologies is essential.
- Communication: Exhibit excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey testing results and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Problem-Solving: Show strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve defects and issues during testing.
- Experience with SCADA or SCADA development will set the candidate apart.
- Preferred: Background in gas/electric/utilities/generation/construction/engineering industries

Technical Certification Bonus: Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
