This intermediate professional-level position involves supporting senior IT staff in implementing and maintaining a wide range of facility-based IT equipment and software used by the Gas business. The IT Technical Analyst may participate in the development and research of advanced technologies and collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to develop business case documentation, features, and requirements.

This role requires effective communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and involves active engagement in creating and maintaining technology and business roadmaps, application support documentation, architecture diagrams, training materials, and vendor relationship documentation.

Key Accountabilities
  • Drafts documents, maintains project features, requirements, use cases, change requests, review results, and project artifacts in accordance with organizational standards and processes.
  • Ensures the health of systems/applications daily, addressing issues promptly.
  • Assesses tickets from Gas during on-call rotations, working closely with IT Ops and other resources as needed.
  • Keeps asset information in ServiceNow up to date, collaborating with the ServiceNow team.
  • Infrastructure and End-Point Support: Sets up and repairs infrastructure and resolves incidents involving laptops, desktops, MDTs, mobile devices, and other IT equipment.
  • Transition to Sustainment: Ensures smooth transition to L1/L2/L3 support for delivered solutions, creating/updating application support documentation, helpdesk knowledge base, and providing knowledge transfer to support teams.
  • Training and Support: Provides training and support to business users to ensure effective use of IT solutions.
Project/Initiative Delivery:
  • Participates in identifying high-potential technologies and coordinating their implementation.
  • Develops plans, schedules, and projects to ensure timely and budget-compliant implementation of solutions.
  • Evaluates vendor solutions for applicability to business needs.
  • Stays current with technologies, providing research and evaluation of products as required.
  • Participates in working sessions to elicit features and gather requirements, making recommendations and participating in solution implementation.
  • Acts as a liaison among stakeholders, project team, and leadership to understand organizational structure, policies, and operations.
  • Provides planning and time estimates on assignments, performing both independent and collaborative analysis activities.
  • Works on projects of moderate to high complexity involving multiple business partners, interfaces, or systems.
  • Maintains awareness of technology trends, innovations, and analysis techniques, working toward certification in areas of expertise.
  • Assists with formal or informal presentations and budget forecasting.
  • Continuous Improvement: Promotes a continuous improvement culture within IT, identifying opportunities for process improvement, automation, and digitization. Leads problem-solving sessions and maintains the BRM CI repository.
  • Compliance: Ensures IT initiatives comply with IPS, Supply Chain, MPSC, relevant laws, and industry standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensures the quality of IT solutions, including testing and validation, to meet business expectations. Collaborates with DL/BA and QA Lead for the traceability matrix.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

Education:
  • High School Diploma and knowledge and capabilities typically acquired through at least 5 years of Information Technology related experience OR
  • Associate degree or industry-recognized certificate (i.e., the completion of a core group of courses designated by the institution) in an information technology related discipline (other non-Information Technology degrees will be considered) and the knowledge and capabilities typically acquired through at least 3 years of Information Technology related experience. OR
  • Bachelor's degree in an information technology-related discipline?(other non-Information Technology degrees will be considered) and the knowledge and capabilities typically acquired through 1 year of Information Technology related experience.
Other Requirements:
  • Analytical, technical, organizational, and problem-solving skills consistent with the ability to identify key issues from among a broad range of alternatives and recommend optimal solutions for various situations.
  • Ability to work in a team, project, and/or matrix structure, supporting multiple clients.
  • Broad understanding of analysis and IT industry, e.g., emerging technologies, industry standards, support services, architectures systems design, and systems integration and solid knowledge of analysis and accepted IT processes and methodologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and advocacy skills consistent with the ability to present the results of projects and research to management.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships to foster a positive work environment and elicit support for acceptance of innovative technology within the organization.
  • Experience and ability to create clearly defined business cases.
  • Experience in use case design and possess the ability to create test data and queries to enable test execution and verification of results.
  • Competent in multitasking (i.e., the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, issues or projects that may include high visibility initiatives and require innovation, teamwork, and planning).
