Open Until Filled Ledyard Public Schools is seeking an IT Technician II to fill a vacancy.

General Responsibilities:
  • Support the technical and curricular needs of the school faculty and staff in alignment with district priorities.
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance and repair of all computer technology equipment and software to ensure that all equipment is operational.
  • Setup of all computer equipment and software.
  • Maintain records of repairs, installation of software and hardware deployment.
  • Inventory, tag, and register all equipment at the assigned site per district protocol.
  • Assist employees in the areas of software and hardware use.
  • Set up and configure hardware to meet user need/task in accordance with district protocol, including imagining new devices.
  • Support all assigned systems to ensure continued effective and efficient operation.
  • Provide technical support for audio visual needs including Interactive White Boards.
  • Assist in the training of staff and students regarding the proper care, operation, and maintenance of all computer equipment.
  • Distribute/maintain/repair Chromebooks per district guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Windows-based computers with preference for GSuite experience. Degree or certification in a related field; experience a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Certification and training in areas of hardware and software.
  • GSuite Level 1 and Level 2 certification.
  • Knowledge of applications used in the district including word processing, databases, and curriculum software.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all staff members and students.
  • Responsible decisions, and use proper judgment in all decision making.
  • Work independently.
  • Maintain composure with the public and co-workers.
Evaluation:
  • The employee will be evaluated annually based on their performance on the above responsibilities and other tasks as assigned.
Salary and Benefits:
  • Per agreement with Ledyard Information Technology Personnel Local 1303 of Council AFSCME, AFL-CIO.

Specific abilities required by the job include normal audio ability, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and various pieces of equipment.
