TITLE: IT Systems Technician

DEPARTMENT: MIS

REPORTS TO: Vice President\MIS Manager

SUMMARY: Responsible for internal support and methods to fulfill responsibilities associated with system inputs, outputs, and primary banking system operation. Assist employees with various documentation and technical support via phone contact and or in person. Perform procedures to ensure controlled interaction with internal network system operation. Directly supports the Data and Network systems administrator.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as a contact for user support for user support, system documentation, system access and responds to the needs and questions of users concerning their access to resources on all hosted systems as well as the operation of various software programs.
  • Responsible for computer setups and installations, as well as reviewing new and existing user requests to determine requirements for new or revised PC-based systems and support for all banking functions.
  • Assist with bank internal end-user password resets for all hosted systems.
  • Assist in Hardware/Software administration to include but not limit to maintaining all hardware and software inventory.
  • Responsible for completing technical work orders and ensuring all documentation is completed.
  • Assist with physical network connections and cabling.
  • Assist in computer operations to include supporting the core system and 3rd party applications.
  • Maintain software, hardware, and other equipment through routine preventive maintenance, and correct operational problems while monitoring internal end-user workstations to ensure The Employee MIS Awareness Agreement is followed.
  • Monitoring emerging informational risks and implementing solutions.
  • Works with approved outside vendors to maintain the financial institution's operational equipment, systems, and network environments.
  • Assists with annual risk assessments for financial institution applications and internal controls such as passwords and encryption.
  • Assists with annual core, network and other application access reviews.
  • Assists with diagnosing and resolving all telephone line, data line, and telephone equipment outages.
  • Assists with data systems and networking aspects of IT audits and examinations including documentation and request samples.
  • Maintain IT Department supply inventory.
  • Serves as backup support to Network Systems Administrator.
  • Serves as backup support to Data Systems Administrator
  • Other job duties as necessary.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Bilingual a plus but not required

Possible Working Days/Hours

M-F 8:00 - 5:00

Overtime as required or requested

Special after hours to complete backup, updates, upgrades, etc. as required or requested.

OTHER SKILLS
  • Basic mathematics skills including simple percentage calculations and simple algebraic solutions
  • Basic computer skills including working knowledge of windows operating environment and Microsoft Office basics.
  • Must be able to make independent decisions
  • Must have strong oral, written and analytical skills.
  • Must have organizational skills
  • Basic Mobile/Cellular Phone Functionality.
