Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive IT Systems Engineer who is a self-starter and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role is designed for someone with foundational systems skills who can independently manage and support our IT and development infrastructure. Key responsibilities include overseeing systems patching, LDAP management, permissions, RAM upgrades, cloud billing, reporting, and planning for future technology acquisitions. This position requires minimal daily management, allowing you to take full ownership of your projects and continuously expand your technical expertise. This is an on-site position, 9/80 schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Infrastructure Management:
    • Oversee and maintain IT and development infrastructure across on-premise and cloud environments.
    • Implement, monitor, and manage routine systems patching and hardware upgrades (e.g., RAM enhancements).
  • Access & Security Administration:
    • Manage user accounts, permissions, and authentication protocols through LDAP/Active Directory.
    • Ensure secure and efficient access control and system compliance.
  • Cloud & Cost Management:
    • Monitor cloud billing and optimize cost efficiency across multiple cloud environments.
    • Generate regular reports on infrastructure performance and billing to support financial planning and future technology investments.
  • Proactive System Support:
    • Troubleshoot and resolve systems and network issues with minimal supervision.
    • Document system configurations, maintenance procedures, and infrastructure changes.
  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
    • Work with IT, development teams, and vendors to support system integrations and upgrades.
    • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously enhance our IT infrastructure.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven ability as a self-starter who works independently and requires minimal daily management.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Foundational skills in systems administration, including experience with server and network management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing systems tasks such as patching, LDAP/AD management, permissions control, and hardware upgrades.
  • Experience with cloud billing management, cost reporting, and planning for future IT purchases.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux) and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware) is a plus.
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent technical experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in systems administration or IT support roles.
  • Must be a United States citizen, eligible to work in a DoD cleared facility.

Cubic Pay Range:

$80,000.00 - $116,790.00 + benefits. The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
