Position Summary At Airbus U.S., we value providing superior customer service and are committed to the successful operation of our information technology systems. We are seeking a qualified Systems Administrator to assist our customers with questions and problems concerning computer systems, hardware, and software. The Systems Administrator will also be responsible for supporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining our computer systems and networks. The System Administrator will work with customers remotely and in person, guiding them through systems configuration and troubleshooting, while aiming to resolve issues with efficiency. Responsibilities - Maintain and optimize VMware environments, including vSphere and ESXi hosts.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot virtualization issues, and ensure high availability.
- Perform VM provisioning, cloning, and migration tasks.
- Manage and maintain Veeam and AvePoint backup solutions.
- Implement and test backup and disaster recovery strategies.
- Ensure compliance with data retention policies and perform recovery testing.
- Administer Exchange Online (mailbox management, policies, security).
- Manage Active Directory, including users, groups, GPOs, and domain services.
- Maintain and update Windows Server OS, applying patches and security updates.
- Troubleshoot authentication issues and ensure identity security best practices.
- Manage MFA solutions (Duo, Microsoft Authenticator).
- Ensure compliance with IT policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provide Level 2/3 support for infrastructure-related issues.
- Document system configurations, policies, and troubleshooting steps.
- Assist in IT projects, including migrations, upgrades, and system integrations.
Qualifications Education: - Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security bachelor's degree OR Equivalent Experience
- Minimum of 3 years prior experience working in a related field or position
Certification(s) (preferred not required): - VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+
- Microsoft Certified: Microsoft Fundamentals
Experience: - 3+ years of experience in a System Administrator / IT Support role.
- 3+ years experience managing Active Directory and Windows Server environments.
- 3+ years Microsoft 365 administration experience (Exchange Online, Entra).
- 3+ years Data backup experience
- Hands-on experience with VMware virtualization (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi).
- PowerShell scripting experience for automation is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities: - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities in enterprise IT environments.
- Ability to manage and optimize VMware virtualized environments efficiently.
- Expertise in data backup and recovery solutions, ensuring business continuity.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, and Entra.
- In-depth knowledge of Active Directory (AD) administration, including group policies, authentication, and identity management.
- Experience managing and maintaining Windows Server environments, including patching and performance optimization.
- Strong documentation skills for system configurations, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills to provide technical guidance to users and stakeholders.
