Information Technology management, ensuring the college's IT infrastructure's reliability, security, and efficiency.Essential Functions
Server Administration: Create, configure, implement, and maintain Windows and Linux servers, ensuring high availability and reliability of network systems.Cybersecurity & Disaster Recovery: Collaborate with the Director of System Administration and security administrators to develop and monitor cybersecurity measures, data storage, and disaster recovery strategies.Software & Hardware Standards: Recommend and establish software and hardware integration and implementation standards to ensure system compatibility.Email Systems Management: Implement, upgrade, configure, and maintain Microsoft Office 365 and Exchange to ensure seamless organizational communication.Interdepartmental Support: Work with other departments to provide server and application support for authentication systems, phone systems, and environmental controls.Performance Optimization: Routinely verify system status and performance, implementing fine-tuning strategies for optimal server performance.Incident & Emergency Response: Serve as Essential Personnel for emergencies and off-hours support.eDiscovery & Compliance: Lead technician for conducting email searches and recovery in Office 365 eDiscovery.VEEAM/AWS Backup & Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain VEEAM and Amazon Web Services (AWS) server/file backup systems for data retention and disaster recovery.Collaboration & Escalation: Work with senior technical staff to resolve recurring IT issues and escalate to management when necessary.Training & Mentorship: Provide junior technicians with training and support on Microsoft 365, infrastructure, servers, and applications.Security & Policy Development: Collaborate with IT leadership to develop and enforce security policies for the IT infrastructure.Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
System administration - documented experience focusing on Windows, Active Directory, and Linux environments, including application support.Expertise in Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, Exchange, and VEEAM/AWS backup solutions.Expertise in endpoint device management configuration and compliance via Intune.Expertise in SCCM and endpoint image creation and management.Expertise in Active Directory infrastructure components such as domain controller setup, AD sites and services, GPO, DNS, DHCP, and PowerShell.Strong knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, network infrastructure, and disaster recovery planning.Office 365 - identity management, MFA, Conditional Access, and Entra ID Connect.Experience with eDiscovery in Office 365 and compliance-driven data retrieval.Ability to troubleshoot and optimize server performance proactively.Knowledge of anti-spam configuration tools such as Defender for Office 365, SPF, DKIM.Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and provide technical training.Desired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).Knowledge of IT security frameworks (NIST, CIS, or ISO 27001).Additional Information

Only candidates who are currently authorized to work in the United States will be considered.This is a full-time classified position scheduled to work 40 hours a week, with a salary range of $90,060 - $121,116 annually. All classified positions will start their salary at Step A, when you have completed six months of probation, you will receive a 5 percent pay increase. A collective bargaining agreement exists, and this position is covered by the Washington Public Employees Associate (WPEA) Union.
