About the Role:
We're looking for an junior-to-mid level IT Technician to support a 6-month technology upgrade project. This hands-on role involves building and updating computers, reinstalling software, and assisting with system configurations. You'll also coordinate with our third-party IT consultants to help ensure our systems meet certain compliance requirements.
This is a great opportunity for someone with strong technical foundations looking to gain experience in enterprise-level upgrades and government-compliant environments.
Responsibilities:
Assemble and upgrade desktop computers (motherboards, RAM, SSDs, etc.)
Reinstall and configure software and operating systems (primarily Windows)
Perform system updates and basic hardware diagnostics
Follow checklists for BIOS updates and configuration changes
Work under the guidance of senior staff and external IT consultants
Keep accurate records of work performed and assist in documentation
Ensure work aligns with basic security and compliance protocols
Provide general tech support to staff during the upgrade process
Job Requirements
Requirements:
1-2 years of hands-on IT support, helpdesk, or computer repair experience
Comfortable working with computer hardware and troubleshooting basic issues
Familiarity with Windows installation, software setup, and system updates
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions
Good communication skills and team-oriented mindset
Willingness to learn and take direction in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have (Not Required):
Experience working with or coordinating with MSPs or external consultants
Awareness of government compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, FISMA)
CompTIA A+ or similar certification
Exposure to basic networking or IT asset management tools
