General Purpose Under general supervision, provides end user helpdesk support on software, hardware, and network resources including PC's, printers, scanners, telephones and voice mail; provides for interoperable communications during emergencies; and performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience: - Associates Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field and three years of experience working in a Help Desk environment with direct experience performing computer installations and peripherals; technical support, diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, PC, printer/scanner, telephone system repair and maintenance; telephone/voice mail, printing OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Licenses or Certifications: - Valid New Mexico driver's license or ability to obtain a valid New Mexico driver's license within 30 days of hire.
- SC Defensive Driving Course completed within 90 days of hire.
- Within 9 months of hire, must acquire CJIS - Criminal Justice Information System and must be able to pass CJIS background check.
- Other licenses or certifications may be required within a specified time period after hire.
Other RequirementsAdditional Requirements: - Ability to maintain a valid New Mexico driver's license

Essential Job Functions - Provides timely helpdesk support to end users; responds to and answers service tickets for all IT end user support and network support; documenting results of work; ensuring all calls are logged into the HelpDesk software.
- Reviews and researches software and hardware solutions; recommends software/hardware solutions; analyzes needs for new hardware or network equipment; and works with IT Director in placing orders for new equipment.
- Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs computer hardware (PC's, printers, scanners, phones/all peripherals) and software issues; isolates problems and performs repairs;
- Assists in planning and implementation of new systems; and assists in project development for software and hardware deployments.
- Trains users in new software, hardware, and telephone equipment when needed or as requested or required.
- Trains other IT staff on specific areas of knowledge when necessary.
- Coordinates and works with outside vendors for repairs, quotes, and needs analysis for new systems, parts, and equipment.
