New Tech Global is seeking an IT Support Specialist for a client located in Tamarac, FL. This is a direct hire role.
Responsibilities:
Provide Tier I and Tier II customer service and technical support to end-users for hardware and software
Diagnose, research, and resolve routine end-user issues in a timely manner through established protocol and troubleshooting; escalate as necessary
Provide guidance and explain policies and procedures to end-users
Communicate and translate technical information to non-technical end users; maintain communication and monitor incident through resolution
Train customers on new devices and technologies
Install software on new or existing devices, in accordance with standard procedures
Performing tests and evaluations of new software/hardware
Set-up of new equipment, devices, and users, in accordance with standard procedures
Utilize and maintain knowledge bases, white papers, FAQs, and vendor documentation
Contribute to documentation of incidents, internal processes and procedures, maintenance of equipment, and training manuals
Assist with preventative maintenance within specified guidelines and procedures
Assist in the tracking of hardware and software inventory and maintaining asset management systems. Review, evaluate and order new computer hardware and software products
Manage network switch ports to ensure compliance, data-jack numbers, jack termination and wire management
Troubleshoot network issues, including wifi, DHCP, DNS, VPN and other related items
Ensure electrical safety standards are met
Support related systems including telephone, security cameras and other IT related solutions.
Assist and interact with hardware and software vendors
Participate on committees, projects, and IT teams using correct management systems
Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
Installing/upgrading anti-virus and client management software to ensure security at the user level
Monitor daily back up operations
Perform necessary updates on local servers
Maintain an organized 5s work environment, managing equipment, server room, switches and switch ports with labels
Requirements:
2-5 years experience supporting users in a Windows environment
2-5 years experience in computer networks and systems maintenance
Proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position
Strong knowledge of Windows OS
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with hardware (servers, desktops, laptops, printers, etc.) and peripheral troubleshooting.
Experience with common office software (Microsoft Office Suite, email clients, etc.).
Basic networking knowledge (IP addresses, DNS, VPN, etc.).
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently.

Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Good understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
Ability to pick-up, move, adjust computer related equipment like printers, PCs, servers, etc over short distances
Adhere to normal business hours, with flexibility for after hours and/or weekend support for break/fix or maintenance related items on occasion
Organized, project/daily planning, good problem-solving skills, self-motivating and the ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in Computer Science, engineering, relevant field, or equivalent job experience
Experience working for a manufacturing company
IT certifications (CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional, etc.) are a plus.
Familiarity with mobile devices and mobile device management (MDM).
Experience with ticketing systems and IT asset management tools.
