Position: IT Support Specialist

Position reports to the IT Manager

Job Location: 1718 W Fullerton Ave, Chicago IL, 60614

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay Rate: $20-27 hourly

The IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical assistance and support for computer systems, hardware, and software. In this role, you will provide the computer environment's maintenance by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software, and supporting the internal IT Helpdesk. You will be responsible for the administration and internal support of the Company's PCs, printers, servers, and related equipment. Tasks include end-user support, license tracking, and performing PC maintenance, upgrades, and configurations.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent (associate's degree in Information Technology or related field is preferred).
  • Minimum of two years of IT support experience preferred.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Strong motivation for learning and ability to resolve problems.
  • The ability to use all available tools and resources for troubleshooting.
  • Strong aptitude in OS repairs, spyware and virus removal, hardware, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of methodology to run computer systems and to troubleshoot minor computer equipment malfunctions.
  • Knowledge of MS Windows, iOS, macOS operation systems.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects.
  • Basic network knowledge and experience.
  • Experience with Windows Server 2003/2008/2012 is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of CISCO network devices is a plus.
  • Basic experience and understanding VMware and other virtualization environments.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid Driver license.
