Description:
The IT Support Specialist at Mate Precision Technologies supports and maintains user endpoints and applications within our IT systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing desktop environments, endpoint protection, and application-specific platforms to ensure smooth and secure operations across the organization. This position reports on-site to Mate headquarters in Anoka, Minnesota, five days per week.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
End-User Support
- Lead technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other peripherals.
- Manage IT asset inventory, ensuring compliance with licensing and lifecycle management.
- Administer print servers and printers, resolving issues and optimizing print operations.
Phone System Support
- Configure and maintain IP phone systems, including user accounts, call routing, voicemail, and hardware troubleshooting.
- Liaise with vendors for advanced support and document configurations.
Application-Specific Support
- Maintain the NextCloud platform, ensuring secure file collaboration and user support.
- Manage security cameras and associated server systems, ensuring functionality and secure access to footage.
- Collaborate with CAD system administrators to support SolidWorks network connectivity and licensing servers.
Infrastructure Management
- Support virtual environments (Hyper-V, KVM), including VM setup, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Support Microsoft 365, including user account management, email, and Office products.
- Support Windows and Linux systems across servers and PCs, ensuring uptime and optimal performance.
- Support SAN/NAS storage systems, allocating new partitions and ensuring data integrity.
- Monitor and maintain Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems to safeguard critical IT infrastructure.
Backup and Disaster Recovery
- Support data backup strategies using Veeam, including routine testing.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors to deploy and monitor endpoint protection (e.g., SentinelOne), ensuring real-time threat detection and remediation.
Network Administration
- Provide basic administration and support for routers, switches, VPNs, and LAN/WAN infrastructure.
- Administer multi-factor authentication (MFA) systems, ensuring secure access and user support.
- Support remote access solutions, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity for employees.
General Responsibilities
- Oversee third-party vendors supporting hardware, software, or network maintenance.
- Provide off-hours support when necessary.
- Foster a collaborative and respectful work environment.
- Demonstrate integrity, reliability, and accountability in all aspects of the role.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred; A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of six months of experience in a similar role is required.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting Microsoft Office, Windows, Active Directory, and TCP/IP networking.
- Preferred experience with VMware, Hyper-V, DNS, DHCP, Windows Deployment Services, Group Policy, and Linux.
- Familiarity with Avaya IP telephony is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally, is required.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- The work environment is typically moderate in noise level.
Pay, Work Schedule, & Benefits:
- Annual Salary: $62,000 - $82,000/year
