About This RoleThe Carl R. Ice College of Engineering is seeking an IT Support Specialist II. The IT Support Specialist II is responsible for providing second-tier technical support and assistance to users within the college/unit. This role involves troubleshooting moderately complex hardware and software issues, providing hardware and/or software recommendations, maintaining IT systems and mentoring junior IT support staff. The incumbent may be tasked with delivering IT training.

What You'll Need to SucceedMinimum Qualifications: - High school diploma and two years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications: - Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a technical support or IT role, with a proven track record of resolving technical issues.
- Experience with help desk ticketing systems and remote support tools.
- Previous experience in a technical support role or relevant internships is a plus.
- Proficiency in various operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS) and productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Familiarity with networking concepts, security practices, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts and hardware components.
- Familiarity with help desk ticketing systems and remote support tools.
- Ability to transport up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
Other Requirements: - Must have a current driver's license.
