The Opportunity:
The Northern Illinois Food Bank seeks an extraordinarily motivated candidate to join our team as an IT Support Specialist II. This role will provide advanced user support and systems troubleshooting, bridging IT operations and light application development. This role addresses escalated technical issues, develops automation tools, and supports enterprise applications such as SharePoint, Power Platform, and DevOps. The position contributes to system improvements and operational efficiency across IT services.

This Full-Time position is based out of our West Suburban Center (Geneva) location.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Resolve escalated IT support issues requiring deeper technical knowledge
  • Maintain and troubleshoot user access, file permissions, and shared resources
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to streamline IT operations
  • Support internal tools, including SharePoint, Power Apps, or custom-built apps
  • Collaborate with data and dev teams to support application deployments or upgrades
  • Assist with infrastructure improvements and tech rollouts
  • Train users on tools and basic troubleshooting techniques
  • Perform other related duties and/or responsibilities as assigned or required.
Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years in IT support, including scripting and systems troubleshooting
  • Familiar with PowerShell, SQL, Microsoft 365 admin tools
