Position Summary: The IT School Support Specialist provides Level 1 hardware and software support to campus administration, faculty, staff, and students. This role ensures the smooth operation of IT systems by diagnosing and resolving technical issues, maintaining equipment, and supporting various campus technology needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Technical Support & Maintenance - Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and user-related issues.
- Provide updates on open support tickets and resolutions.
- Respond to and resolve Help Desk requests from students, faculty, and staff.
- Deploy and configure new devices, facilitate office moves, and manage workstation layouts.
- Maintain and inventory IT equipment and supplies (e.g., hardware, toner).
- Perform routine maintenance on laptops, desktops, and printers.
- Install and manage network and peripheral cables.
- Set up A/V equipment for meetings, conferences, and events.
- Research and recommend new software and hardware solutions.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors for procurement and service requests.
- Manage security camera systems for Sim Labs and facilities.
- Perform other IT-related duties as assigned.
Student Support - Set up and manage student accounts (e.g., Office 365, LMS Canvas).
- Troubleshoot student access issues related to accounts, laptops, and course software.
- Provide IT-related updates to students via electronic displays.
Administration & Faculty Support - Onboard administration, faculty, and staff by setting up required accounts and access.
- Configure and maintain internal systems, scanners, and printers.
- Provide remote IT support for clinical faculty.
Qualifications & Competencies: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 2-5 years of IT support experience.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Familiarity with educational technology platforms (e.g., LMS, Office 365).
Work Schedule: - 40 hours per week, with flexibility.
- Two evening shifts per week (until 7:00 PM).
- Occasional weekend hours may be required.
- Some travel may be necessary.
