Heartland Counseling Services is looking for a Full-Time IT Specialist to join our team at our South Sioux City office.

MAIN FUNCTION: The IT Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of our IT systems, including the Credible EHR system, as well as supporting the technological needs of our staff. The role will involve troubleshooting technical issues, managing IT infrastructure, ensuring system security, and providing training to staff on system usage.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee the day-to-day functionality of the Credible EHR system, ensuring it is running smoothly and efficiently.

• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with vendors for troubleshooting or system upgrades.

• Provide first-line support for EHR-related technical issues, resolving problems in a timely manner.

• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to optimize EHR usage, ensuring staff have the tools needed for efficient documentation and record-keeping.

• Maintain and support internal IT systems, including servers, networks, and workstations.

• Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems, ensuring they align with the agency's technological needs.

• Support and troubleshoot network issues, hardware failures, and connectivity problems across various devices and workstations.

• Perform regular system backups and ensure data recovery procedures are in place and effective.

• Provide technical support for staff on various IT-related issues, including software, hardware, and EHR system problems.

• Train new and existing staff on using the Credible EHR system and other agency software applications.

• Develop training materials and conduct workshops to ensure staff members are utilizing IT systems effectively.

• Assist with onboarding new employees by setting up workstations, configuring necessary software, and guiding them through IT procedures.

• Monitor network security, ensuring systems are protected from unauthorized access, cyber threats, and data breaches.

• Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures, including password management, data encryption, and access controls.

• Stay up-to-date with industry best practices for IT security and ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.

• Assist in the management and documentation of system access and security protocols for the Credible system and other internal tools.

• Participate in the planning and execution of IT projects, including system upgrades, new software implementations, and infrastructure improvements.

• Work with leadership and other departments to assess IT needs and recommend solutions for improving efficiency and service delivery.

• Assist in the implementation of new technologies and applications to enhance overall service delivery and workflow.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT systems, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting logs.

• Generate regular reports on system performance, user issues, and IT-related activities for leadership review.

• Ensure proper inventory tracking of all IT equipment and software licenses.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, network administration, and troubleshooting.

• Experience with IT ticketing systems and resolving technical issues in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex IT concepts to non-technical staff.

• Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Maintain confidentiality of all client information.

• Ability to build and maintain rapport with other staff.

• Must comply with all Heartland Counseling Services, Inc. rules and regulations, policies, and procedures, including those regarding conduct and confidentiality.

• Possess a valid driver's license and an insurable driving record.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an IT support role, preferably in a healthcare or behavioral health setting.

• Experience working with Credible EHR or similar Electronic Health Record systems is preferred.

• Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting network systems, servers, and workstations.

• Strong experience with security protocols and maintaining secure IT infrastructures.

• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) are highly desirable.

• Knowledge of IT project management methodologies and experience implementing technology initiatives preferred.
