JOB TITLE: IT Solutions Developer

POSITION SUMMARY: The IT Solutions Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining innovative software and automation solutions to support organizational objectives. This role requires a blend of programming expertise and system administration knowledge.
The position involves creating and optimizing scripts for process automation, integrating systems, maintaining databases, and ensuring seamless operations between diverse platforms. The IT Solutions Developer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, translating business needs into technical solutions, and contributes to the organization's efficiency by implementing secure and scalable tools.
In addition to development, the role supports system administration efforts, enhances system performance, and ensures compliance with security standards. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong technical skills, a passion for innovation, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- At least two years of relevant experience
- Experience with system integration, API development, and middleware solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Application Development - Design, develop, and maintain software solutions using Perl, JavaScript, SQL, PowerShell, and VBScript.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
System Integration and Automation - Develop and implement scripts for process automation across Windows and Linux environments.
- Integrate various systems and platforms using APIs, middleware, or custom scripts.
Database Management - Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, analyze, and update data.
- Manage database schemas, perform migrations, and ensure data integrity.
System Administration Support - Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting Windows and Linux systems.
- Configure, deploy, and monitor system components to ensure optimal performance.
Code Maintenance and Debugging - Write clean, maintainable code and conduct regular code reviews.
- Debug and resolve issues in existing scripts and applications.
Security and Compliance - Implement secure coding practices and ensure adherence to organizational security policies.
- Assist in automating compliance checks and vulnerability scans.
Contributing Team Member - Create and maintain technical documentation for scripts, applications, and systems.
- Train team members and stakeholders on new solutions and processes.
- Stay updated with the latest technologies and scripting techniques.
- Identify and implement opportunities for improving efficiency and performance.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proficiency in Perl, JavaScript, SQL, PowerShell, and VBScript.
- Strong understanding of scripting principles and automation tools.
- Familiarity with both Linux (e.g., shell scripting, package management) and Windows (e.g., PowerShell scripting, Active Directory).
- Expertise in writing and optimizing SQL queries for relational databases.
- Experience with database design and administration is a plus.
- Strong debugging skills to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Ability to analyze complex systems and develop effective solutions.
- Ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Skilled at documenting processes and creating user-friendly guides.
- Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders and understand their needs.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and basic cybersecurity principles.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and deliver quality results.
- Experience with Agile or similar methodologies is advantageous.
- Willingness to learn new tools and technologies as needed.
