SOLUTION ARCHITECT Join an award-winning team driving the digital modernization of critical U.S. government systems. As the Solution Architect, you will shape the future of web technologies and digital services used by the Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead high-impact innovation initiatives, integrate cutting-edge cloud and DevSecOps practices, and deliver modern, accessible, and scalable digital solutions for millions of global users. Work Location: Hybrid Washington D.C. Metro Area RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead modernization initiatives across CA/CST's portfolio in alignment with strategic goals and architectural guidelines. Evaluate and implement emerging technologies and frameworks to improve WSS websites and web applications. Architect and guide cloud adoption strategies including design, engineering, and deployment of modern cloud-native solutions. Drive platform modernization including mobile and COTS tool integration, ensuring secure and scalable solutions. Develop strategies to leverage structured and unstructured data, build new data sources, and ensure metadata integrity. Integrate DataOps and CI/CD pipelines, automate QA/testing, and improve development-to-deployment lifecycles. Perform research, proof-of-concepts, and pilot solutions that incorporate modern API management, containerization, and streaming analytics.
Create accessible, mobile-ready platforms that comply with Section 508 standards. Coordinate modernization efforts with CST stakeholders to ensure interoperability and alignment with Consular Modernization goals. Provide strategic input and participate in technical reviews, planning sessions, and governance activities. REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
Related Experience:
MUST have Active Secret or Top Secret clearance Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT modernization, digital transformation, or enterprise architecture Experience leading federal government modernization projects, preferably with the Department of State Expertise in modern software development and deployment methodologies (Agile, CI/CD, DevSecOps) Deep understanding of cloud services (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), APIs, containers, and serverless architectures Proficiency in mobile-first and responsive design standards Familiarity with Section 508 compliance and accessibility best practices Strong communication and leadership skills with experience briefing executives and collaborating across cross-functional teams Preferred:
Experience supporting Department of State CA/CST or similar federal civilian agency programs Advanced certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Architect, etc.) Hands-on experience with modern data platforms, DataOps, and metadata management tools Experience integrating AI/ML tools and modern chatbot frameworks into enterprise systems About INCATech LLC
