Onsite in DC Metro IT Subject Matter Expert - Senior The IT Subject Matter Expert - Senior will serve as the lead authority on Jira Service Management and the broader Atlassian suite, driving tool optimization, integration, and alignment with enterprise ITSM frameworks. Key Responsibilities: Administer and configure Jira Service Management, including custom workflows, automation rules, SLAs, request types, and service desk queues. Support enterprise-wide users and project teams in optimizing Atlassian tool usage and IT service delivery processes. Translate business requirements into effective Jira/Atlassian configurations and solutions. Develop and manage integrations with identity management systems, monitoring platforms, and third-party tools using REST APIs. Enhance Jira functionality through scripting and automation using tools such as Groovy, ScriptRunner, or PowerShell. Champion ITSM practices, including incident, problem, and change management across multiple environments. Serve as the primary escalation point for Atlassian-related issues, enhancements, and training. Required Skills and Experience: U.S. Citizenship with Top Secret / SCI eligibility Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and user support skills Deep experience with Jira Service Management in large, complex environments Strong knowledge of Atlassian tools and their administration, including Confluence, Bitbucket, and related plugins Scripting/automation experience with Groovy, ScriptRunner, or PowerShell Familiarity with ITIL and ITSM frameworks in federal or enterprise settings Demonstrated ability to integrate Jira with external systems and APIs 5-7+ years of experience configuring, customizing, and supporting Jira in enterprise environments
