The mission of the Lone Wolf program is to support, operate, and maintain the Distributed Continuity Integrated Network - Top Secret Enterprise Services (DCIN-TS ES) which is a DoD-provided, TS/SCI, integrated voice, video, and data, global communications network that facilitates collaboration among senior leaders and key staff. Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the IT Site Design Specialist include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Develop and carry out detailed hardware deployment strategies and site installation plans. Coordinate efforts with Customer Project Managers (CPMs), administrative personnel, technical support staff, and client stakeholders to align objectives and timelines.
• Lead installation teams when required, managing the deployment and integration of networking and related hardware components, performing routine maintenance tasks, and overseeing the decommissioning of enterprise LAN/WAN infrastructure when it is no longer in service.
• Install, maintain, and decommission a wide array of IT hardware, including but not limited to KG-175 TACLANE encryption devices, Cisco routers and switches, VoIP telephony systems, Video Teleconferencing (VTC) equipment, Server racks & associated infrastructure, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), Network-enabled printers, scanners, & digital senders, and Desktop and workstation computers with all necessary peripherals
• Deliver end-user support and administrative services for Windows 10/11 systems. This includes deploying and imaging operating systems using MECM, Installing and configuring client software, managing user profiles (including roaming profiles), and troubleshooting system and peripheral issues
• Perform structured installation, labeling, and organization of interior cabling, including STP CAT5/6 copper, fiber optics, and AV cables.
• Support training exercises by providing technical setup, configuration, and on-site assistance as required.
• Update support tickets and complete post-installation close-out procedures. Tasks include submitting travel receipts and reimbursement forms, turning in customer-signed hand receipts and inventory documents to logistics personnel, and recording updated "as-built" design documentation to reflect accurate site configurations.
• Function as a senior-level technical contributor with expertise in local and wide area networking (LAN/WAN), secure communications, and related software and hardware technologies within complex, multi-platform environments.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team comprising both contractor and government personnel to support a large and varied customer base.
• Engage with new and long-term clients to gather, refine, and document specific mission requirements.
• Analyze scope-of-work documentation and technical design packages to determine necessary resources, tasks, and deliverables.
• Conduct on-site surveys to evaluate current IT infrastructure and develop detailed plans for future network architecture. Survey documentation may include floor plans, cable layout diagrams, rack elevation schematics and logical and physical network diagrams
• Collect and archive visual and structural data related to installation sites, such as photographs, facility blueprints, and architectural drawings.
• Collaborate with internal and external Subject Matter Experts in areas such as telecommunications, secure communications, and network/system engineering to develop technically sound and mission-aligned deployment solutions.
• Design and produce installation diagrams and requirement documents for devices and systems including KG-175 TACLANE encryption units, Cisco networking hardware, VoIP and VTC devices, server racks, UPS systems, printers, scanners, digital senders, desktop workstations and associated cabling
• Generate comprehensive Bills of Material (BOM) to support the acquisition and procurement of required hardware and installation materials.
• Consolidate all site survey data and related documentation into structured and easily accessible formats for future reference.
• Stay current with the program's approved equipment catalog and any planned modifications or upgrades.
• Monitor emerging technologies and evaluate their relevance to program goals. Provide input on the selection and procurement of new hardware and software solutions.
• Coordinate with the change management team-covering testing, lifecycle management, and procurement-to keep all equipment lists and records accurate and up to date.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to develop realistic and coordinated project schedules that support smooth and timely execution of fielding activities. Requirements:
• Must have active Top-Secret clearance with SCI or TS with the ability to acquire SCI
• 5 years of relevant experience
• Firm understanding of Active Directory, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), DHCP, and DNS.
• Firm understanding of Cisco routers and switches.
• Working knowledge of IT infrastructure and ability to adapt to changing technology.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently.
• Ability to maneuver in small spaces (under desks, server rooms, communications closets) while running cords and cables.
• May be required to work beyond typical work times (40-hour work week, normally Monday through Friday) to include On-Call, Recall, and/or Standby.
• Must possess a credit card to conduct official travel. Will be reimbursed within 7-10 days upon return from temporary duty.
• Must have a valid Driver's License
• Ability to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last-minute requests for overtime if needed.
• Ability to travel up to 50-75% during business hours within the National Capital Region (NCR); Occasional multi-day travel outside the NCR may be required.
• Familiarity with MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Project, and Visio.
• Exceptional attention to detail; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong critical thinking, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.

• Windows Server 2019 Certification.
• Understanding of SolarWinds and Remedy.
• Understanding of ITIL or other ITSM models.
• Windows 10/11 Certification or Microsoft 365 Certification (Modern Desktop Administrator Associate (MDAA) or Endpoint Administrator Associate Certification).
