Primary Skills: Troubleshooting-Expert, Hardware-Intermediate, Windows 10-Intermediate, Office 365-Intermediate, Service Desk Support-Expert Duration: 06+ Months Location: Chicago, IL 60661 (Onsite) Contract Type: W2 Only Rate Range: $20.00 - $28.00 per Hour Job Summary: The IT Service Desk Technician serves as the first point of contact for internal employees facing IT issues, offering phone or e-mail support and efficiently escalating complex cases. This role demands a strong foundation in technical support within an enterprise setting, with a focus on PC hardware, Microsoft operating systems, and software troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will possess exemplary communication skills, the capacity to handle multiple priorities, and flexibility in scheduling to accommodate special projects. Key Responsibilities: Provide first-point technical IT support to the entire workforce. Resolve system issues through coordination with users and IT personnel. Escalate complex issues to senior support specialists as needed. Maintain system security, passwords, and data integrity for desktop environments. Simulate or recreate user problems to diagnose and resolve issues. Must-Have Skills: Proficiency in troubleshooting PC hardware and Microsoft software issues. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Preferred Experience: 1-2 years of Service Desk/Help Desk or related technical experience in an IT enterprise environment. Experience with Microsoft Windows 10, Office 365, and Mac OS is highly valued.
