Position Description: The IT Senior Application Support Analyst's role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions. This is achieved by maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve systems issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.
Position Qualifications: Formal Education & Certification - College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, and/or 7+ years equivalent work experience.
Knowledge & Experience - In-depth, hands-on knowledge of and experience with enterprise and desktop applications, including Microsoft office, CRM systems, HR systems, various financial systems.
- Experience having built/maintained software.
- Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
- Broad knowledge of programming languages and techniques, including SQL/NoSQL.
- Able to develop and interpret technical documentation for training and end user procedures.
- Knowledge of trends in technology relating to software applications.
- Experience with building and maintaining databases for query and problem tracking.
- Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
- Security awareness.
- Preferred experience with SAP and SuccessFactors.

Essential Duties: Strategy & Planning - Work with executive team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues.
- Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.
- Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
Procurement & Deployment - Design and deploy new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems.
- Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
- Provide support for the testing of new and existing software applications under development or consideration for purchase.
Operational Management - Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
- Design and perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company's disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
- Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
- Record, track, and document the problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution.
- Communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including management, development teams, end users, and unit leaders.
- Identify and learn appropriate software applications used and supported by the organization.
- Coordinate with department heads to assess departmental application training needs and objectives.
- Participate in the design, development, and delivery of software applications training programs and individual classes.
- Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting.
