IT & SECURITY TECHNICIAN SeaLandAire Technologies in Jackson, Michigan is looking for an IT & Security Technician to join our team. This position's purpose is to assist with the upkeep and repair of the overall computer systems of SLA, including servers. This position will also assist the Facility Security Officer in Security Team operations. This position reports to the IT Manager and Facility Security Officer.
Essential Functions - Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware, and computer peripherals
- Documents, maintains, upgrades, or replaces hardware and software systems
- Supports and maintains user account information including rights, security, and systems groups
- Utilizes commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field to perform job functions
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Familiarity with manual/computer-assisted data entry functions
- Working knowledge of applicable computer equipment and software is required
- Knowledge on usage of Microsoft Office products
- Experience/knowledge of Python coding
- Experience/knowledge in PHP coding
- Understanding/knowledge in Linux operating systems or a willingness to learn (specifically, Red Hat Linux and its derivatives)
- Willingness to learn about Corporate/IT/Government Contractor Security
Since a majority of SeaLandAire's business is funded by the US Department of Defense, applicants must be a "US Person" (US Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident). The employee will have to pass a background check.
Education & Experience - Associate degree and/or equivalent is preferred. High school or equivalent is the minimum expectation for this role

Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is an onsite, part-time hourly position. Hours are somewhat flexible and occasional late evenings and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
