IT Security Specialist
Join HARTING. A leader in connectivity products and custom solutions . We are seeking an
IT Security Specialist (hybrid; based in Elgin, Illinois) to protect our critical information, systems, and assets. As an IT Security Specialist, you will work in an international team to identify and escalate security incidents and support the expansion of IT security. Additionally, you will actively develop our Cyber Defense Center by creating playbooks and processes.
To succeed in this role, you will be highly driven to: - Detection, assessment and processing of security incidents
- Monitoring and analysis of the network infrastructure
- Identify vulnerabilities and coordinate remediation
- Development of playbooks and processes
- Further development of our Cyber Defense Center
- Monitor datacenter health using preexisting management tools and report security findings to local infrastructure support teams as necessary
- Support of IT environment users, hardware, networking, and software
- Interact with the help desk and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root cause, and provide technical support
- Performs other IT staff's functions as a backup during an emergency
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and experience to thrive in this role: - Bachelor's degree or three-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in IT security environments
- Experience in handling security incidents and vulnerability management
- Experience with tools such as SIEM, EDR, and the M365 Security Suite
- Knowledge of information security-relevant standards and norms (ISO27001, TISAX) desirable
- Certifications such CISSP desired
- Excellent knowledge of the WINDOWS Server and Workstation OS environment.
- Experience with Linux
- Experience with Hypervisors
- Experience with Firewall management

HARTING USA offers an attractive total compensation package and employee benefits, including: Compensation: - HARTING's Total Compensation Structure includes a Base Salary and Bonus Percentage.
- Competitive base salary: $80,000 - $115,000 (commensurate with experience, subject to change dependent on physical location)
- This role is eligible for a 5% discretionary annual bonus.
