Job Responsibilities York Technical College, a member of the South Carolina Technical and Comprehensive Education System, is a public, two-year institution of higher education that offers a variety of associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates. Through maximizing student success, the College seeks to contribute to the economic growth and development of York, Lancaster, and Chester counties and of the State.
The IT Security Analyst performs the following functions:
- Provides expertise in the further development and maintenance of the college's IT security program and procedures within a wide range of complexity levels. Establishes IT security standards for the college.
- Performs daily monitoring of security related consoles, logs, reports to detect suspicious activity, unauthorized access to IT assets, or other malicious behaviors.
- Maintains and monitors compliancy to established security standards such as device encryption, software updates, data backups, etc.
- Conducts or collaborates with third parties to conduct IT related table top drills, employee IT security training, phishing tests, penetration tests, and other security assessments.
- Consults with management and other technical and security subject matter experts in identifying, selecting, and implementing technical controls.
- Ensures compliance to regulatory requirements applicable to the college, including FERPA, HIPPA, GLBA Safeguards Rule, FTC Red Flags Rule, and other federal and state regulations.
- Other duties as they relate to information security as assigned.
Minimum and Additional RequirementsA Bachelor's degree in information technology systems, computer science, or related field and experience in information technology systems or related area. Relevant experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications- Four or more years of professional experience reviewing information vulnerabilities, intrusion investigation, and/or proactive information security measures.
- Familiarity with NIST cybersecurity framework
- CISSP certification desired
