Following a defined but flexible methodology, the IT Project Manager is responsible for delivering assigned IT projects on-time, within budget and in accordance with defined business requirements. The Project Manager will ensure project reporting is accurate and timely.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Leveraging a defined methodology including templates and planning documents, ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within budget and aligned with scope.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation including charters, scorecards, project plans, communication plans, status reports and closeout lessons learned.
- Develop project scope/objectives, engage all relevant stakeholders and ensure technical feasibility.
- Develop a detailed project plan to track and report on progress.
- Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
- Identify and remediate project risks; escalate critical risks to management in a timely manner.
- A master at managing relationships with customers, stakeholders SMEs and vendors.
- Hands-on leader willing to proactively execute tasks to ensure objectives are met.
- Ensure project reporting is accurate and timely; strive to improve IT project metrics.
- Administer the project management software ensuring data is current, reports are defined, and dashboard metrics are aligned with our objectives.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree and 7 years' experience managing technical infrastructure projects.
- PMP certification is a plus.
- Previous law firm experience strongly preferred and a candidate differentiator.
- Demonstrated experience managing a sizeable project portfolio.
- Solid technical background; ability to estimate task duration for network and system projects is important and a candidate differentiator.
- Hands-on approach; critical thinker; box checkers need not apply.
- Holds vendors and SMEs accountable for desired results.
- Superior organizational skills and a master of time and task management.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Teams.
- Good interpersonal skills; respectful and team-oriented, assertive but tactful, receptive to feedback and embracing continuous improvement.
- Excellent work ethic, strong sense of ownership for assigned projects and all related work.
- Exercises good judgment; applies common sense.
- Must speak concisely and convincingly and write similarly.
