The role of the IDS Project Manager is to manage Major and/or Complex IT Projects and Programs through the planning, execution, testing and implementation and closure phases ensuring adherence to strict deadlines and budget. This includes working with all IDS Delivery and Business led organizations in the acquisition of resources and coordination of all Project and Program efforts toward the successful and timely delivery of all products and solutions. The IDS Project Manager will define the project's objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle. The IDS Project Manager will have significant experience of working at executive levels across the organization. This role will also identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to the ongoing betterment of project management practices by contribution to the PMO function.
POSITION DUTIES:
IDS Project Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Plans, Designs and Manages multiple major and complex projects and programs
• Provide regular project status updates directly to CIO and Project/Program Steering committees
• Define the project/program governance in alignment with PMO Practices
• Ensure effective Quality Assurance and the overall integrity of the project/program
• Ensuring allocation of resources and skills within the project/program
• Identify and enroll the project stakeholders.
• Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
• Manage the process of gathering, review and agreement of requirements with stakeholders.
• Effectively communicate project expectations and progress to sponsor, steering committee, team members and other stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
• Effective Management and critical analysis of project costs and overall budget
• Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
• Control the flow of work and track project milestones and deliverables.
• Identify risks and ensure control actions are taken.
• Control issues affecting project schedule, budget and resources.
• Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
• Define project success criteria in relation to agreed requirements and disseminate to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
• Conduct project lessons learned and create a recommendation report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
• Contribute to the development of methods, processes and controls, and be an advocate in their application
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• 10 plus years' direct work experience in a Project Management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.
• Strong familiarity across project management methodologies such as PMI, Prince 2, APM, Agile
• Agile Project Management experience essential with proven demonstrable delivery of Agile based projects
• Experience working within an Enterprise Project Management Office (PMO) structure
• Relies on systematic thinking to create solutions that resolve challenges in the context of the broader organization
• Good understanding of Software Development Lifecycle desirable
• IT Domain knowledge desirable but not essential i.e. SAP, IT Operations
• Competent and proficient understanding of platforms, such as MS-Office
• Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies, including SharePoint
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects/programs per original commitment date with a strong focus for On Time Delivery Metrics
• Must have strong scope definition and management skills
• Demonstrable experience in personnel management with the ability to effectively Lead large diverse project teams that are globally distributed
• Demonstrable experience of working at Senior/Executive levels within large scale organizations
• Demonstrates exceptional communication and stakeholder management at all levels
• Demonstrates outstanding project management strategy and negotiation skills
• Demonstrates strong R.A.I.D management across all projects and programs
• Well organized and able to prioritize workload in line with tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
• Highly resilient, adaptable and able to deal effectively with ambiguity/changing priorities.
• Able to operate effectively in a fast-paced change environment.
• Highly numerate, with excellent analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent team player with ability to working closely with others to deliver results.
• Strong relationship management skills.
