Overview

The Operations Technician is responsible for executing nightly/evening operations on the AS400 (IBM iSeries) system. This role works closely with non-IT departments to ensure operational tasks are completed, including the delivery of electronic reports, processing payment uploads, and troubleshooting operational issues.

Responsibilities
  • Perform daily (nightly), weekly, and monthly AS400 operations.
    • Work hours for the 8-hour shift is generally from 11a- 7pET with End-of-Month being from 3p-11pET.
  • Process daily payment uploads from the accounting department.
  • Execute daily EDI claims processing.
  • Generate and securely transmit various data export files to third-party vendors.
  • Deliver daily reports electronically.
  • Conduct daily pre-cycle and system save backups to virtual and physical tape.
  • Coordinate off-site storage and retrieval of physical backup tapes.
  • Identify and communicate issues, recommending solutions to the Director of IT Infrastructure & Operations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and PHI guidelines.
  • Adapt positively to change and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Actively supports and complies with all components of the compliance program, including, but not limited to, completion of training and reporting of suspected violations of law and Company policy.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information; abides with HIPAA and PHI guidelines at all times.
  • To work remotely, it is expected you will have a reliable, nonpublic high-speed internet connection with sufficient bandwidth to participate in all work-related activities. Any interruptions in service should be immediately reported to your manager.
  • Reacts positively to change and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • AS400 (IBM iSeries) experience preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to follow defined procedures and workflows.
  • Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision and with other team members.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to complete work in a timely manner.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Anticipate needs in a proactive manner to increase satisfaction.
  • Take ownership of job responsibilities by initiating prompt and appropriate follow up and/or action to problems.
