Description This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer networks, ensuring smooth operation, and addressing technical issues related to network infrastructure and devices. You will be able to deploy, configure, maintain, and monitor all active network equipment in order to ensure smooth network operations. Additionally, you are responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and software. Responds to queries, runs diagnostic programs, isolates problems, and determines and implements solutions. Relies on experience, technical training, and independent judgment to perform specialized IT work.
Responsibilities/Duties: - Travel to various locations to deploy new hardware and network equipment.
- Assist in installing and integrating new server hardware and applications, exercising discretion and independent judgment as necessary to resolve any issues that may arise
- Keep an eye out for needed updates
- Support and administer third-party applications, exercising discretion and independent judgment as necessary to resolve any issues that may arise
- Ensure network security and connectivity
- Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, good put, and latency) and test for weaknesses
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining network security to protect against unauthorized access, breaches, and other vulnerabilities.
- Handle communication and coordination with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to resolve connectivity issues and manage service agreements.
- Diagnose and resolve network-related issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Specify system requirements and design solutions - Resolve problems reported by end user
- Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
- Maintain accurate records of network configurations, changes, and maintenance activities.
- Respond to queries either in person, over the phone.
- Train computer users.
- Maintain daily performance of computer systems.
- Respond to email messages for customers seeking help.
- Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software.
- Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems.
- Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems.
- Install computer peripherals for users.
- Follow up with customers to ensure issue has been resolved.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Abilities: - Proven experience in a network administrator role.
- Hands on experience in networking, routing and switching.
- Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure.
- Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN's remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired.
- Ability to set up and configure server hardware.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies.
- Great at organizing, prioritizing and multitasking.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: The following are the minimum qualifications that an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties & responsibilities of this position. Please note that the minimum qualifications may vary based on the department size and/or geographic location.
Education & Certification: - Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent of 3 years' experience.
Experience & Background: - Strong knowledge of network protocols, hardware, and software.
- Experience with enterprise networks, Active Directory, and the Microsoft suite.
- Experience with enterprise endpoint security management
- Experience with network security practices and tools.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or similar.
- Experience with cloud services and virtualization technologies.
- Experience with Al technology.
- Experience with emerging cybersecurity threats.
