JOB SUMMARY

The IT Network Security Administrator position reports to the Director of Technology and Assessment and is accountable for managing network security systems and supporting the creation and maintenance of processes and procedures for detecting, investigating, and defending Five Keys systems and data from network security incidents. Contribute to the overall success of the IT Team by effectively completing assigned tasks and achieving related objectives

Qualifications

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•  Implement and maintain network security controls by coordinating with the IT Team on projects related to Five Keys domain cybersecurity, mobile device management, and Google Workspace cybersecurity
•  Coordinate with the IT team on a range of projects to implement and maintain robust network security controls, including:
•   Domain Cybersecurity: Collaborate on initiatives to protect Five Keys' domain from external threats, such as phishing attacks, malware, and unauthorized access. Implement and manage security tools, conducting regular security assessments, and educating staff on best practices
•   Mobile Device Management: Work with the IT team to develop and enforce security policies for mobile devices used by Five Keys' staff. Implement mobile device management (MDM) solutions, configuring security settings, and monitoring for potential threats
•   Google Workspace Cybersecurity: Assist in securing Five Keys' Google Workspace environment by implementing and managing security controls, such as access controls, data loss prevention (DLP) measures, and threat detection
•   Network Security Cameras: Oversee the operation of the security camera system, including real-time monitoring, reviewing recorded footage for investigations, and ensuring the proper functioning of all cameras and related equipment. Identify and report any technical issues
•  Proactively communicate system status and performance insights through clear and concise reports
•  Respond to and investigate network security incidents, breaches, or attacks; identify root causes and implement solutions
•  Develop, implement, and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards for network security to protect data and infrastructure
•  Continuously monitor network traffic for security threats, vulnerabilities, and unusual behavior using,
•  Conduct training sessions for employees on network security best practices and the importance of protecting sensitive information
•  Develop and implement data backup strategies and disaster recovery plans for network security infrastructure in case of system failure or security breaches
•  Conduct regular cybersecurity audits to identify vulnerabilities, inefficiencies, and potential violations. Follow the guidelines provided on the Five Keys Data and Acceptable Use Policy
•  Ensure consistent quality of service by adhering to established organizational standards
•  Continuously enhance technical knowledge and skills by participating in relevant educational workshops and training
•  Provide comprehensive technical support to the company's computer users (staff and students), addressing their IT-related needs
•  Assist end-users with the installation and adoption of new software and procedures through effective guidance and training
•  Safeguard all information system assets against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, or destruction
•  Protect systems by defining and enforcing appropriate access privileges, control structures, and resource allocation
•  Other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
•  Able to maintain strict confidentiality and take all precautions when handling sensitive information
•  The ability to think proactively and actively seek opportunities and purposeful solutions
•  Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to a variety of internal and external stakeholders
•  Highly proficient in installing and using software to protect sensitive information
•  Advanced proficiency in Zoom, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and databases
•  Proficiency in Network Security:
•  Firewall Management: Configuration, rule creation, and troubleshooting of firewalls (stateful, next-generation)
•  Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS): Understanding their function, signature management, and log analysis
•  VPN Technologies: Implement and manage various VPN solutions (IPsec, SSL VPN).
•  Network Segmentation: Designing and implementing network segmentation strategies for enhanced security
•  Security Best Practices: Knowledge of common network vulnerabilities and mitigation techniques
•  Staying up to date with the latest threats and vulnerabilities
•  Understanding cloud networking concepts (VPCs, subnets, security groups, network ACLs) in platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP
•  Ability to effectively and efficiently work in an office with high levels of self-accountability EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
•  Required at least 3 years of IT Network Security Experience
•  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, or other related field preferred PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
