Job Summary The Network Engineer is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the enterprise network infrastructure across multiple manufacturing and office locations. This role ensures secure, scalable, and highly available network operations that support both IT and OT environments. Leveraging Aruba and HPE networking technologies, the Network Engineer will play a key role in modernizing the network landscape, integrating cloud solutions, and advancing cybersecurity initiatives. Reporting directly to the Infrastructure Manager, the Network Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams-including Operations, IT Security, and Plant Engineering-to deliver resilient, high-performance network solutions that enable business continuity, digital transformation, and daily operational excellence.

- Configure, monitor, and maintain switches, wireless access points, and routers across distributed environments using Aruba Central and HPE networking platforms.
- Design and support LAN/WAN environments, inter-site connectivity, and VPN solutions to ensure high availability and performance across all sites.
- Implement and maintain network segmentation strategies for IT/OT separation and enforce NAC policies and Zero Trust access models.
- Utilize NMS tools (e.g., PRTG, SolarWinds) to monitor traffic, troubleshoot latency and packet loss, and ensure proactive response to incidents.
- Support the installation, configuration, and sustainment of end-user IT systems and services in alignment with corporate IT governance and lifecycle management practices
- Maintain and optimize enterprise wireless infrastructure using Aruba Wi-Fi technologies, including coverage tuning, SSID configuration, and role-based access.
- Provide networking expertise for IT projects including ERP/MES deployments, domain migrations, disaster recovery testing, and plant expansions.
- Support firewall rule changes, access control lists (ACLs), and VPN configurations in coordination with security teams and enterprise standards.
- Develop and maintain accurate IT documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), knowledgebase articles, configuration baselines, and asset records
- Maintain detailed network diagrams, configuration backups, and change logs aligned with ITIL-based change management practices.
- Act as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex network issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Participate in after-hours support rotation and ensure business continuity through resilient architecture and redundancy planning.
- Participate in enterprise-wide incident resolution, collaborating with cross-functional IT teams to address escalated issues and fulfill critical endpoint support during on-call rotations
- Operate with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative, accountability, and ownership in resolving complex technical issues and driving continuous service improvement
Expected Areas of Competence (KSAs)- Proficient in Aruba/HPE switching, Aruba Central, VLANs, and Layer 2/3 network architecture
- Strong understanding of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, and QoS
- Exposure to IT/OT convergence, segmented network design, and industrial Ethernet environments
- Experience supporting wireless and wired networks across multi-site, distributed environments
- Effective communicator with strong documentation and project coordination skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests in fast-paced environments
- Comfortable supporting users on manufacturing floors and in office settings

Education and Experience Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Networking, Information Technology, or related field - or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of four (4) years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless systems
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience managing network operations in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with a focus on uptime, segmentation, and secure IT/OT integration
Additional Preferred Qualifications - Aruba Certified Switching Associate (ACSA) or Professional (ACSP)
- HPE Networking Certification (e.g., Aruba OS-CX or HPE Comware)
- CompTIA Network+, Security+
- Working knowledge of firewalls, NAC, Zero Trust principles, and secure remote access solutions
- Ability to support site-to-site connectivity, SD-WAN, and MPLS architectures across distributed locations
Physical Requirements Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force
frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
Travel Requirements Up to 25% travel may be required to other Neenah Foundry Company locations
