Position Description: Responsible for overseeing and managing an organization's network infrastructure, ensuring data security, and specifically focusing on protecting data stored and processed within cloud computing environments, including implementing security measures to prevent data breaches and unauthorized access across cloud platforms.
General Duties and Responsibilities: - Designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure, including LANs, WANs, and VPNs.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Implementing network security controls like firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
- Assessing cloud security risks and vulnerabilities across different cloud providers (Primary: Azure) AWS & GCP are nice.
- Implementing data encryption at rest and in transit to protect sensitive information.
- Managing access controls and user permissions for cloud-based data, cloud storage, Applications, & API Protection.
- Designing and deploying cloud security policies to enforce data protection standards.
- Implementing cloud-native security tools like security groups, IAM (Entra ID) roles, and data loss prevention (DLP) mechanisms
- Identifying and classifying sensitive data to apply appropriate protection levels.
- Implementing data retention policies to manage data lifecycle across cloud storage.
- Designing, installing, managing, monitoring, and maintaining enterprise databases.
- Develop processes for optimizing database security.
- Create, manage, and document database access.
- Adheres to problem resolution and escalation procedures, documenting and responding to all related system problems and resolving them promptly.
- Leads teams to ensure alignment of the business strategy, technology roadmap, and adherence to enterprise governance, best practices, and policies, holding leadership and individual contributors accountable through Management by Objectives
- Provide well-considered counsel to Executive Leadership and other business service leaders on a Strategic 2-3-year technology roadmap for the Network, Database, and other environments assigned.
- Accountable for identifying, designing, building, and implementing services within the business unit, having end-to-end accountability for customer satisfaction, delivery effectiveness, and cost allocations/transparency.
- Management and oversight of endpoint management automation and team responsible
- Analyzes technology trends and develops technology strategy, architecture, and delivery processes designed for agility and cost-effectiveness.
- Participates with business units in IT strategic planning, project planning, and budget planning efforts.
- Provides monthly reviews and quarterly scorecards for 3rd party and MSP business process improvements.
- Provide status reports over areas of responsibility upon request.
- Oversight of documentation for assigned environments and technologies.
- Notifies Senior Management of problem areas and develops strategies to overcome problems.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - 10+ years of infrastructure experience, ideally network, & database
- 5+ years of experience managing/leading infrastructure teams and mentoring staff.
- Expertise in areas of management, including Network, Database, & Cloud Systems & Microsoft Gateway Services and Runtime Gateway
- Deep understanding of network protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls)
- Expertise in cloud computing platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and their security features
- Strong Command of SQL and SQL server tools
- Extensive knowledge of SSAS, SSIS, SSRS
- Experience with Cloud Database PaaS services i.e. Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Fabric, SQL as a Service, Entra ID, Power Automate API, Dataverse
- Strong understanding of Enterprise SQL, Data Availability Groups (DAG), and Log Shipping
- Knowledge of data encryption techniques and key management practices
- Strong understanding of identity and access management (IAM) systems, Azure Entra ID
- Experience with security monitoring and incident response tools
- Proven track record of excellent analytical skills.
