Department The Division of Enrollment Management - Technology Operations Unit
Responsibilities The Division of Enrollment Management is comprised of four distinct units: Office of Admissions , Office of the University Registrar , Office of Financial Aid , and Technology Operations. Enrollment Management's integrated services provide distinctive support throughout the students' development and progression in their academic experience - from recruitment through commencement. Through collaboration, communication, and commitment, all units within Enrollment Management achieve the highest level of student-centered service to current and prospective students and families as well as to campus partners across the University.
The Technology Operations Unit within Enrollment Management provides technology support, technology-based solutions, systems configuration, identity and data management, and analysis across the division. The unit works closely with subject matter experts in Admissions, Registrar, and Financial Aid to meet the operational and reporting needs of various stockholders across campus.
Responsible for managing information technology work, pertaining to technical support for desktop solutions in the Division of Enrollment Management to include set-up, configuration, troubleshooting, printer support, and active directory management. Utilizes consulting and problem-solving skills to address problems and issues. Manages and oversees server configurations for storage, virtualization, software deployment, hosted services, employee training, and security testing.
Oversees the maintenance of computer services for the Division of Enrollment Management. Includes management and inventory of all desktop computers, laptops, servers, production and network printers and other peripherals within the department. Responsible for providing technical support and training, as needed, to the staff involving network infrastructure, software, hardware, IT security, and other peripherals.
Collaborates with departmental Security Analyst to ensure all security standards are met and any immediate threats are properly mitigated in a timely manner. Coordinates with end users and Security Analyst to diagnose and improve computing environment. Creates and maintains virtual testing environments to aid in computer upgrades and security updates. Makes recommendations to users and Security Analyst to diagnose and improve computing environment to guard against illegal activity.
Supervises direct reports within the Computer Support section of Enrollment Management. Provides support in the selection, training and management of OPS employees serving on the Computer Support team. Oversee the quality of support provided, ensuring any computer issues are resolved within a timely manner.
Oversees strategic planning and determines budgeting needs for the IT resources within the Division of Enrollment Management. Researches and evaluates IT equipment and services in order to provide expertise and recommendations for the selection of IT equipment and services, as well as overseeing the implementation of said equipment. Responsible for prioritizing IT needs to ensure the most critical needs are addressed timely. Coordinates procurement and upgrade of hardware/software with the Associate Director to ensure alignment with IT functionality and security/privacy needs.
Oversees the management of servers and databases related to the daily operations for the Computer Support section of Enrollment Management. Leverages existing IT systems and services that are managed by ITS such as Active Directory, SharePoint, Network Management Interface, E-mail, and File Storage.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree and four years of experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.
Preferred Qualifications - A bachelor's degree and four years of experience in enrollment services.
- Ability to multi-task within a fast-paced work environment.
- Experience implementing and/or supporting a new initiative (policy, technology, procedure, etc.).
- Experience with admissions operations and application processing.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills desired.
- Experience and comfort working with a variety of computer software applications, databases, and student information systems (PeopleSoft).
- Experience in information technology security measures, standards, and best practices.
- Experience with high level technical support and conveying technical information to technical and non-technical users.
- Experience multitasking, time management, problem solving and working as part of a team as well as independently.
- Experience providing IT support, problem resolution and debugging.
- Experience deploying and maintaining IT assets in a virtual environment using VMWare technologies or equivalent technologies, and developing policies, procedures, and other documentation.

Anticipated Salary Range Anticipated salary range for this position is around $55,290.00 annually, commensurate with education and experience.
