Job Description

Tootsie Roll Industries (TRI) is seeking a Manager of IT: Business Systems to lead and optimize the Company's enterprise business applications, with a primary focus on its ERP systems. This role will be for a working manager that is responsible for the strategy, implementation, and optimization of enterprise applications to support business operations and drive efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in ERP applications and play a critical role in ensuring that our business systems align with organizational goals. They will work collaboratively with executives, business leaders, IT teams, and external partners to enhance system capabilities and support digital transformation initiatives.

Deep expertise in Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) as well as other cloud-based business applications is paramount for the role. This role will require technical expertise, software management, and project management skills to ensure optimal up-time, and for projects to be completed accurately, on-time, and on-budget. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of project management successes with skills in requirements gathering, scoping, and prioritization.

This role requires an understanding of the various end to end business processes and how they are implemented. This includes standard ERP process flows of Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, General Ledger, Inventory, Order Management, Human Capital Management, and Process Manufacturing.

Duties and Responsibilities

Management
  • Provide performance management (goal setting, feedback conversations, reviews, assessments, etc.) input to direct reports and other team members in IT as needed.
Integration between ERP with outside systems
  • Management of interfaces and system jobs between core ERP and outside systems.
Project Management
  • Identify and assign functional and technical resources to business projects and tasks.
  • Work with managers, business partners, and process leads to identify and prioritize issues, improvements, and projects.
  • Provide project management that is effective at managing multiple tasks, multiple resources (internal and external), while meeting project timelines, project goals, and staying within the project budget.
  • Manage user acceptance testing of applications prior to promoting changes into the production environment, while providing documentation of the testing and appropriate signoff.
Controls: Role Security and Approvals
  • Understanding of and experience with SOX and segregation of duties.
  • Workflow Approvals.
Application Architecture:
  • Mapping of fields and connection of tables within EBS.
  • Support developers creating technical solutions by assisting with design, mapping user requirements, identifying gaps, testing, and business process flows.
Change Management
  • Document changes and help train and support users to ensure adoption of process changes.
  • Adhere to Change Management standards.
Upgrades, Patches and Regression Testing
  • Work with developers and DBAs to determine patch requirements and upgrade paths for EBS.
Vendor Management, RFP and Negotiation
  • Research solution options and weigh the solutions based on data, technical and functional effort, and business adoption.
  • Prioritize functional vs. technical solutions where possible (Buy vs. Build)
  • Manage external providers, including performance management and SLAs, contracts, licenses, and budgets.
Required Skills
  • Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related, preferred.
  • 5+ years of functional experience with Oracle EBS Applications or similar enterprise ERP platforms
  • Experience in leading and managing teams, as well as the ability to make critical decisions
  • Ability to resolve technical and functional issues via data analytics and other methods
  • Ability to handle changing workloads and priorities, driven by business requirements
  • Knowledge of standard ERP tables and ability to write SQL queries to analyze and review data
  • Strong communication, organization and planning, interpersonal, and presentational skills.
  • Proven record of working with senior business leaders in developing technology roadmaps and strategies.
