A successful tech application platform located in the River North neighborhood of Chicago is seeking a skilled IT Manager to lead their IT team. This full-time hybrid position involves managing the company's IT infrastructure, user support, and cybersecurity across in-office and virtual environments. The IT manager role requires understanding of a modern tech stack including Microsoft 365, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity tools to ensure secure, scalable, and efficient operations.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 3+ years of professional IT Management experience
  • 2+ years in IT Security or related field
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and device management tools
  • Experience with NIST, SOC, or similar compliance frameworks
  • Experience implementing IT policies, conducting risk assessments, and managing vendor partnerships
  • Knowledge of modern cloud infrastructure and hybrid workplace technologies
  • Hands-on experience with IT asset inventory and support ticket systems
Desired Skills & Experience
  • IT certifications (CISA, CISSP, CCSP, CRISC, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of identity management and cybersecurity protocols
  • Strong scripting ability (PowerShell preferred)
  • Previous experience in a high-growth or digital-first company
What You Will Be Doing
Tech Breakdown
  • 40% IT Infrastructure & System Administration (M365, Cloud, Endpoint Management)
  • 30% Cybersecurity & Risk Management (Assessment, Monitoring, Policy Development)
  • 30% Support & Operations (Onboarding, Troubleshooting, Vendor Management)
Daily Responsibilities
  • Manage internal systems, hardware, software, and telecom infrastructure
  • Assign tasks to team, provide technical direction while remaining hands on
  • Oversee IT onboarding/offboarding, access management, and helpdesk requests
  • Conduct annual IT risk assessments and implement cybersecurity best practices
  • Collaborate with Engineering and vendors on disaster recovery and compliance
  • Maintain IT inventory, upgrade systems, and support office hardware/software
  • Lead the adoption of tools and practices to improve collaboration and security
