This is a IT Manager role and we are open to candidates in Chicago. This position will require 5 days a week working in the Chicago office. US work authorization is required.

The role:

As our IT Manager, you will work on-site in Chicago to provide the best technology experience to our organization. You will protect our critical information, systems, and assets. You will also build solutions and implement new software and hardware. You will be the leading force in providing training and assisting in the development of an overall IT strategy. Your calm and patient demeanor will serve you well as you assist employees with technical issues as they arise. Your curiosity for improving processes will be beneficial as you create an organized FAQ so our employees can help themselves. You will be tasked with ordering devices as new employees join our team, keeping inventory and maintaining/fixing them. You will be responsible for change management in selecting and unifying our platforms. Let your passion for technology and problem solving guide you as you maneuver through ever changing technology.

In this role you will:
  • Interact with other help desk employees as well as other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identifying root causes, and providing technical support.
  • Execute technology successfully to minimize downtime and disruption.
  • Get the organization ready for technology change through presentations, surveys, and email outreach.
  • Order computers for our new employees, manage cost and inventory.
  • Fix and maintain a variety of devices to ensure optimal performance.
  • Evaluate and recommend necessary changes in performance tuning, infrastructure design, and monitoring.
  • Create an organized FAQ system for our employees to use.
  • Manage our infrastructure to ensure the best-in-class security.
  • Manage our technology platforms such as Microsoft and Autodesk platforms.
  • Optimize our infrastructure for speed, cost, and performance.
  • Report to our finance team.
Apply if you have:
  • 3-7 years of experience in an IT-related field or environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills.
  • A background working on UniFi network devices.
  • Experience supporting and using Dell hardware.
  • The curiosity to improve and streamline processes.
  • A calm demeanor while working in stressful situations.
Even better if you have:
  • Experience working with small firms in the IT world.
  • A bachelor's degree in technology or computer science.
  • A good understanding of Autodesk applications.
Compensation and featured benefits:
  • The pay for this position is $80,000 +, and the role is eligible for bonuses. The actual salary offer may be different as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, location, and experience
  • Health insurance with the choice of five plan options. We cover 70-95% of premiums for VIATechies (depending on the plan chosen) and 65% of the premiums for dependents
  • Dental and vision insurance. We cover up to 75% of the monthly insurance premiums for VIATechies and 50% of the premiums for dependents (depending on the plans chosen)
