Job Title: IT Intern
Department: Information Technology
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary: The IT Intern will support various IT infrastructure tasks, including system setup, help desk support, hardware deployment, and assisting with infrastructure upgrades. This role provides hands-on experience in troubleshooting, inventory management, system imaging, and assisting with larger IT projects such as server upgrades, ARV migration, and network switch replacements.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with computer and hardware deployment, including system imaging, setup, and first-line troubleshooting.
- Provide help desk support by responding to tickets and resolving basic hardware/software issues.
- Support IT projects like the ARV migration, server/SAN upgrades, and network switch replacements.
- Manage IT asset inventory, track equipment, and assist with documentation updates.
- Conduct regular checks on systems like Plex stations and digital signage, ensuring equipment functionality.
Competencies:
- Basic understanding of IT systems, including hardware, software, and networking.
- Problem-solving skills for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
- Strong attention to detail in inventory management, system setup, and documentation.
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and assist with various IT tasks.
- Teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with IT staff.
Education and/or Experience:
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Background Prerequisites:
- Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
